We want to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer, don’t we?

You can thank the HVAC system where ever you happen to be indoors for your comfort, whether you’re warm or cool. But what does HVAC stand for? It means the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning system that used for moving air between indoors and outdoors. We rely on that system a lot and the technician that install and repair HVAC systems. We want to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer, don’t we? But a call to Adam’s Air Systems might be necessary if something goes wrong.

The common issues that could cause HVAC problems are:

  • Dirty filters. You can replace this yourself. You can pick up filters at your local hardware store. irty coils. If the coils in any part of the unit are dirty, the efficiency of your unit will decrease.
  • Refrigerant Leaks. The air conditioning part of the HVAC system relies on these chemicals to operate smoothly.
  • Duct leaks and dirty duct work. Air can escape from the ducts causing the heating and cooling system to work harder.
  • Clogged drains. If you find puddles near your HVAC system, your unit produces a lot of condensation that needs to drain.
  • Pilot Light isn’t lit. Gas furnaces have pilot lights that have to remain lit.
  • Ignition problem. This could be an issue like an unlit pilot light or blocked gas supply or the signal of a dangerous situation.
  • Thermostat issues. Could be a battery needs to be replaced or bigger issues if you can’t keep a constant temperature.
  • Tripping Circuit Breakers. May just need a reset but if it happens a lot something is wrong.

Properly programming your AC and furnace settings can drastically improve your home's energy efficiency and comfort levels. Start by setting a consistent schedule to match your daily routine. For instance, during the summer, set your AC to a higher temperature when you are away from home and lower it when you are typically there. Conversely, in the winter, lower the furnace settings when the house is empty and raise them when you are back. Utilizing programmable thermostats or smart home devices can automate this process, making it more convenient and reducing the chance of human error. Additionally, it's essential to perform regular maintenance, such as changing filters and checking for leaks, to ensure your HVAC system operates at peak performance.
